Lee Martin Newgard was born December 23, 1881. He married Leonora Middleton on December 5, 1923 at Streatham BC. The small community of Noralee was named after them; Nora and Lee Newgard, where both he and his wife were the first postmasters. Lee Newgard died July 14, 1965 in Smithers B.C.
